History

Stove Shipping has its’ roots from a family owned company of which shipping has formed part of the tradition tracing back to the 19th century when it first entered the business.

Lorentzen & Co. was later founded in 1919 as a ship owning and shipbroking company.

Stove Shipping was established in 1959 as an operating company for ship owning interests.

The co-operation between several shipowners known as the ‘Belstove-companies’ continued and in 1982, Western Bulk Carriers was founded as a dry cargo pool where Stove Shipping were among the participants.

From the turn of the millennium, Stove Shipping continued as an independent shipowning company backed by private owning interests for operating a fleet of geared bulk carriers.
